Posting Title: Senior Claims ManagerReports To: Director, Corporate Risk & InsuranceLocation: San Jose, CA | RemoteSalary Range: $108,750 - $143,000Final determination of a successful candidate's starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education and experience. The Finance team at Cupertino Electric, Inc. (CEI) provides employees, stakeholders and customers with timely and accurate financial information. The Finance Department is comprised of eight teams: Accounts Payable, Payroll, Billing, GL, FP&A, Tax, Risk Management and Project Accounting that work closely together to ensure compliance and the financial well-being of the company.ABOUT THE ROLEThe Senior Claims Manager is responsible for managing the organization's property and casualty insurance claims across multiple insurance programs and state systems. The role ensures compliance with the organization's statutory and legal obligations and promotes a culture of risk awareness and mitigation. The Senior Claims Manager works closely with insurers, third party administrators, legal teams and key stakeholders from the start of the claim, through investigation and resolution.Claims Management Develop and manage process and procedures for workers' compensation, third party liability, inland marine including builder's risk, property, crime, and management liability (employment practices, D&O) claims. Subset for general liability and workers' compensation provided under controlled insurance programs Subset for monopolistic state funds Leverage third-party administrator relationships to achieve optimum claim results under the corporate insurance program, controlled insurance programs, and monopolistic state funds. Track and analyze loss trends and claim costs. Prepare professional claim reports and documents for department and senior level management. Develop/manage 3 rd party resources to support claims management including telehealth, third party administrators for monopolistic states, failure analysis, and forensic accounting. Interdepartmental collaboration and support of risk management policies, frameworks and processes. Other assignments as determined by Director. Cross-functional Collaboration Work closely with the Safety, Production, and Operations teams to ensure timely and consistent flow of communication for injury and damage incidents. Coordinate and collaborate with in-house attorneys on litigated cases. Training Develop and deliver training programs to enhance awareness and knowledge of claim practices and risk mitigation across the organization. ABOUT YOU In-depth knowledge and experience in managing commercial insurance claims. Exceptionally good at analyzing losses and developing strategies to achieve optimal outcomes. Solution-focused, logical, and framework-based thinking with the ability to generate support for ideas and plans. Organized, detail-oriented and proficient in developing processes and procedures to support and streamline workflows. Capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Excellent communication skills with ability to build relationships. Strong influencing and interpersonal skills. Strong negotiation and analytical skills. Proficient with risk management systems, Microsoft Office 365. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSAny combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.Education and Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 5+ years of experience in claims management, preferably in the construction industry with a Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or related field; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or equivalent experience.Certification: Professional certification (e.g., AIC, AIC-M, ARM, CIC, CRM, CPCU) preferred.Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
