Job Title : API Technical Architect Experience Required - 10+ Years Must Have Technical/Functional Skills • Proven experience as an API Architect with strong design and implementation expertise. • Deep knowledge of API-first principles, contract-first design, and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications. • Hands-on experience with API management platforms (e.g., Azure API Management). • Strong understanding of REST, GraphQL, event-driven APIs, and microservices architecture. • Familiarity with security standards (OAuth2, JWT, mTLS) and API governance frameworks. • Experience with CI/CD automation, infrastructure as code (Terraform/Bicep), and automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, contract, performance, security). • Ability to research, innovate, and implement new API patterns and technologies. • Experience of developing applications on Azure Cloud Key Responsibilities Role Overview: • Serve as a thought leader in API architecture, driving innovation and best practices. • Understand and align with the customer's vision such as API-first and contract-first design principles. • Independently define, design, and implement API strategies within the API team. • Offload customer architects by taking end to end ownership so they only need to review and approve outcomes on first submission. Key Responsibilities: • Translate customer API vision into actionable architecture and implementation plans. • Drive API-first and contract-first design across all services and integrations. • Research emerging trends, tools, and patterns in API architecture; introduce new ideas and accelerators. • Ensure high-quality design and implementation standards within the team before customer review. • Establish governance, guidelines, and best practices for API development and lifecycle management. • Mentor and guide API developers on standards, security, scalability, and performance. • Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate APIs into CI/CD pipelines and ensure automated quality checks. • Act as the primary point of accountability for API architecture decisions, offloading customer architects from day-to-day involvement.
