The Beacom School of Business is the flagship business school in South Dakota and the region with its programs consistently receiving high national rankings from institutions such as U.S. News and World Report, Princeton Review and others. The Beacom School of Business' state-of-the-art Ellis Finance and Analytics Lab provides faculty and students the opportunity for research and business analysis utilizing Bloomberg terminals. Faculty in finance offer an undergraduate major and a specialization in the MBA program. The Finance major has experienced significant growth and is one of the schools largest majors. Job placement for graduates is excellent. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a variety of undergraduate and/or graduate courses in finance. The faculty member is expected to provide an outstanding educational experience to students through classroom teaching, mentorship, and student activities outside the classroom. Duties include outstanding teaching, scholarly research, and service for the Department, University, profession, and broader community. The successful candidate will be expected to teach classes on the main campus in Vermillion, online, and occasionally in Sioux Falls, SD. Responsibilities: - Teach both undergraduate and graduate classes in finance with annual teaching load of eighteen (18) credit hours (typically, six classes). Courses may include Managerial Finance, Advanced Corporate Finance, Commercial Bank Management, and other finance courses. - The successful candidate will be expected to teach classes on our Vermillion campus, Sioux Falls campus and online. - Bring a unique and innovative educational experience to students through both classroom teaching and mentorship. - Engage in related scholarly research and service for the Department, profession, and broader community. Minimum Qualifications: • Ph.D. in finance or a closely related field from an AACSB-International accredited business school is required, although ABDs with successful defense by start date will be considered. • Record of, or potential for, contribution to the scholarship of finance. • Proficiency in oral and written communication. Preferred Qualifications Degrees from AACSB-International accredited business school are preferred. Candidates with work experience are preferred.
