Position Pharmacy Technician Location Beaufort Memorial Hospital Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time Shift Various Shifts Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt Description Pharmacy Technician, under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, assists in the retrieval, processing, preparation and distribution of medications and sterile products for patient administration. These activities include but are not limited to: unit dose medications and intravenous admixtures, parenteral nutrition, floor stock pharmaceuticals, controlled substances, and other defined systems. The Pharmacy Technician functions in all aspects of drug distribution that do not require the professional judgment of a licensed pharmacist. The Pharmacy Technician will function in strict accordance with standard, written procedures and guidelines. Position RequirementsEducation: High School graduate preferred (some college preferred). Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent experience as pharmacy technician in a hospital of equal or greater size preferred. Previous employment history should provide an indication that the individual is motivated to perform assigned job responsibilities in an above average manner Certifications/Licenses: SC State Pharmacy technician registration required.
