Job Description: By applying for this position, you will be joining the part-time pool for consideration as a prospective Computer IT, Helpdesk. This position is data processing technical work installing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting networked (LAN/WAN) computer systems for use by end-users including the hardware, software, and communications components of networked systems. The primary duty of this position is to spend most of the time performing these functions. Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance via phone, email, or in person Assist in the configuration of networked computer systems with appropriate hardware, operating systems software, applications software, and communications components to deliver applications to local area network users. Provide end-user technical assistance. Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, and peripheral devices Assist in setting up and support of classroom and conference room technology, including projectors, displays, and video conferencing Escalate complex issues to higher-level technicians or system administrators as needed Maintain an inventory of computer equipment and supplies Provide basic training and support to end users on common applications and systems Adhere to IT security protocols and institutional data privacy policies (FERPA, HIPAA, GLBA) Participate in team projects, system upgrades, and preventive maintenance Assist in relocation of computer technology between offices, classrooms and conference rooms Support account setup, password resets, and access permissions in accordance with security policies Perform related work as required. As a part of the college's risk management tool annual mandatory compliance training is required. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Strong problem-solving and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of computers and software. Ability to document and update ticketing system to create historical data and resolutions Ability to lift and carry 35 pounds. Work may involve the use of ladders or access to confined spaces for cable management and equipment installation May require occasional evening or weekend work for system maintenance or special events Preferred Qualifications: CompTIA A+, Network+ or similar certification Experience with help desk ticketing system (e.g. Freshservice or ServiceNow) Knowledge of Active Directory, Office 365, and remote desktop tools Prior experience supporting end-users in an academic or enterprise environment Additional Information: Classification: Part-Time Rate of Pay: $16.00 per hour Hours: Up to 29 hours per week Location: Niceville Campus FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Application Deadline: This is a pool of applicants.
