Job Title: Interim Director of Finance (Leadership - Days)Location: Dallas, TX Position Type: Temporary / Interim Leadership Role Schedule: Day Shift Local Rate: $120/hour for candidates living within 60 miles of the facility Role Overview The Interim Director of Finance is responsible for directing financial operations, providing strategic oversight, and maintaining the financial integrity of a large healthcare-affiliated foundation. This role ensures compliance with applicable state and federal regulations and serves as a key liaison between the foundation and the broader hospital or health system. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who is adaptable, collaborative, and willing to dive into detailed financial work when needed to ensure operational success. Ideal Candidate Background Non-profit finance experience Foundation finance experience Healthcare experience, preferably within a large hospital or health system Grants management experience Key Responsibilities Direct and oversee all financial operations of the foundation to ensure fiscal integrity and accountability Provide strategic financial leadership and guidance to support organizational goals Act as a liaison between the foundation and the hospital or health system Ensure compliance with state, federal, and regulatory requirements Develop, monitor, and manage annual operating budgets Establish and maintain effective internal controls and financial policies Lead, coach, and influence teams to achieve measurable outcomes Oversee staff selection, training, scheduling, supervision, and performance evaluation Recommend disciplinary actions when necessary, up to and including termination Ensure staff have opportunities for professional growth and development Identify opportunities to improve workflows, processes, and operational efficiency Lead or support major organizational initiatives involving cross-functional stakeholders Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices and apply knowledge to daily operations Skills & Special Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to coach and influence for results Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships with diverse groups Strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills Ability to perform effectively in complex, high-pressure environments with competing priorities High attention to detail with the ability to think independently Thorough knowledge of GAAP, statutory accounting principles, and internal controls Additional Expectations Willingness to be hands-on and engage directly with financial records and the general ledger when needed Flexibility and adaptability to meet evolving organizational needs Commitment to achieving results and supporting mission-driven objectives #ZR
