Maintenance Mechanic

Job DescriptionSchedule: 5:30 AM - 2:30 PM Industry: Food Manufacturing Experience: Minimum 2 years in the food industry required Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred Position Overview The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role requires mechanical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and building systems. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues. Install, adjust, and replace parts to restore equipment functionality. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance. Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and recommend solutions. Ensure compliance with OSHA, safety, and environmental standards. Assist in equipment upgrades, modifications, and new installations. Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and improve efficiency. Maintain tools, manage parts inventory, and keep work areas clean and safe. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or similar role (2+ years in the food industry required). Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical work. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Ability to lift [X lbs.] and work in physically demanding environments. Preferred Skills Welding and fabrication experience. PLC troubleshooting knowledge. Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred. Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
