Trade Compliance Manager - TCRS4638 HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW The Trade Compliance Manager is an individual contributor that will oversee the import and export activities at a high-volume manufacturing site. This role is responsible for ensuring adherence to U.S. Customs, ITAR, EAR, and other trade regulations while managing international shipping documentation, export licensing, and internal compliance processes. This position is 100% in-office in NW Houston area. Relocation assistance is available. EXPECTATIONS Ensure compliance with Import and Export regulations, including ITAR & EAR Manage export licenses, exceptions, exemptions with accurate documentation & recordkeeping Develop site level import and export procedures and processes Maintain product level HTS and ECCN classification information Conduct audits and implement remediation Create and deliver training to increase awareness of compliance best practices Collaborate with site & corporate leadership to develop and enhance compliance procedures Monitor regulatory updates and apply necessary changes to processes Oversee Facility Compliance Officer operations related to trade compliance Partner with internal teams to ensure the smooth processing of international shipments Ability to make decisions under pressure and deliver complex trade related messages ESSENTIALS 7+ years’ experience working in trade compliance, preferably in consulting or service area Associate degree required, bachelor’s degree preferred Understanding of international shipping documentation (commercial invoice, AWB/BOL, licenses) Experience working with the U.S. Department of State (ITAR) and the Department of Commerce (EAR) Working knowledge of Maquila operations and USMCA compliance Ability to manage high export licenses (DSP5, 73 and MLA) and export shipments Knowledge of automated compliance tools and ACE system Thorough understanding of Import and export regulations, including HTS/ECCN classification Excellent communication skills with ability to build trusted relationships Strong data analytic, organization, and problem-solving skills Fluency in Spanish a plus
