Organization Overview: College Possible Texas is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping students achieve their college goals by opening up opportunities. Through innovative coaching and data-informed support, we work to ensure students not only access college but also persist and graduate.Position Summary: As the Education Research VISTA, you will play a pivotal role in building community awareness and partnerships that support our mission. Your work will begin with exploring the education and nonprofit landscape in Texas, attending events and convenings, and developing public-facing tools to strengthen relationships with community organizations, businesses, and potential supporters.Key Responsibilities Establish a structured system to monitor education policy developments, assess their impact on students, and provide timely updates to stakeholders.Create internal briefings and summaries on current and emerging education legislation Research and map local organizations, civic groups, and funders aligned with College Possible TexasDevelop comprehensive toolkits with key educational messages to equip staff, board members, and volunteers with the knowledge and resources needed to champion College Possible Texas effectively. Desired Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (fields such as public administration, communications, or sociology preferred)Strong research, writing, and organizational skillsComfort engaging with new people and representing an organization publiclyInterest in education, nonprofits, and expanding community accessAbility to manage time effectively and work both independently and collaborativelyMust have reliable transportationFamiliarity with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office; basic communication tool skills a plus Benefits Living allowance and Segal Education Award through AmeriCorps VISTAProfessional development in nonprofit operations and community engagementMentorship and collaborative team environmentOne-year, full-time national service commitment
