Senior Java/Spring Application Developer

SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Senior Java/Spring Application Developer for an onsite opportunity in Columbia, SC. The candidate will support and enhance a large-scale enterprise web application, ensuring system stability while delivering ongoing improvements across both front-end and back-end components. This role focuses heavily on production support, troubleshooting complex issues, and collaborating within Agile Scrum teams to maintain performance and reliability. Required Qualifications of the Senior Java/Spring Application Developer: Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. 8+ years of professional experience in application development, systems testing, or application support. Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Proficiency in Java and JavaScript. Hands-on experience with JSP and jQuery. Experience with Spring frameworks including Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Security, and Spring Data JPA. Experience working with Hibernate and relational database integrations. Experience developing and supporting REST and SOAP web services. Proficiency with Git-based source control tools. Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience with IBM MQ or other enterprise messaging tools. Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD tools such as Gradle, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions. Experience using monitoring and performance tools such as Splunk or AppDynamics. Experience working in highly regulated or compliance-driven environments. Responsibilities of the Senior Java/Spring Application Developer: Provide hands-on production support by monitoring logs, diagnosing issues, and deploying timely fixes. Analyze, modify, and enhance both client-side and server-side application components. Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives. Troubleshoot full-stack issues spanning UI, application logic, and database layers. Collaborate with QA and DevOps teams to support stable deployments and system reliability. Document technical findings, resolutions, and enhancements to support long-term system sustainability.
