About the role Seeking a skilled Windows System Administrator to join our high-performing cyber team supporting a large government enterprise environment in Huntsville, AL. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Windows systems administration, security compliance, and experience working with government standards. This role offers the opportunity to work onsite in a critical and secure environment, contributing to the stability and security of essential IT infrastructure. Job Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating system workstations and servers, including web servers. Perform software installations and upgrades in accordance with IT policies. Monitor and tune systems to achieve optimal performance. Ensure data integrity and recoverability through backup and archive operations. Develop and promote standard operating procedures for system administration. Conduct routine hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with standards. Maintain comprehensive documentation of hardware and software configurations. Support system accreditation and authorization processes as required. Required skills Windows Server Administration Active Directory System Backup and Recovery Performance Monitoring and Tuning NIST 800 Series Compliance FISMA Compliance Security Clearance Management Hardware and Software Auditing Configuration Management Preferred skills Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate Certification VMware Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) VMware vSphere 7 Cisco Networking Dell Server Hardware SAN Storage Hardware GRC Tools (RiskVision, Xacta, JCAM) Experience with FBI ATO Processes NIST 800-53 Control Implementation Education requirements Degree Bachelor Major Computer Science Job Requirements Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) in a relevant field. Minimum 5 years of experience in Windows Systems Administration. Experience with Splunk Administration. Proficient in Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory support. Knowledge of NIST 800 series publications and FISMA compliance. Strong understanding of system backup, recovery, and performance tuning. Ability to conduct hardware and software audits and maintain configuration documentation. Excellent communication and teamwork skills suitable for a government enterprise environment. Commitment to following established IT policies and procedures. Experience with system accreditation and authorization processes is a plus. Active Top Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one, including CI Polygraph.
