Job Description: Title: Director of Enterprise Applications Unit: Non-Unit Department: IT Reports To: CIO Date: January 2026 Roxbury Community College (RCC) is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Enterprise Applications to lead the vision, implementation, and ongoing management of the College's mission-critical enterprise software platforms. This role provides leadership and oversight for RCC's core application ecosystem, including ERP, SIS, CRM, financial, reporting, and integrated cloud-based systems, ensuring alignment with institutional goals, operational excellence, compliance requirements, and student success priorities. As a Microsoft Windows and Azure Cloud-based institution, RCC leverages Microsoft SQL Server, Azure services, and Jenzabar ERP SIS as foundational platforms. The Director of Enterprise Applications serves as a key liaison between Information Technology and campus stakeholders, translating business needs into scalable, secure, and reliable technology solutions. This role leads application strategy, governance, vendor relationships, and cross-functional collaboration, while overseeing technical teams and application lifecycle management. Key Responsibilities Strategic Oversight and Application Portfolio Management Define and execute a long-term vision and roadmap for RCC's enterprise applications, ensuring alignment with institutional strategy, academic operations, and student success goals. Provide leadership and governance for enterprise platforms including ERP/SIS (Jenzabar), CRM, HRIS, financial systems, reporting platforms, and other core operational applications. Evaluate emerging technologies and system enhancements to improve scalability, integration, automation, and service delivery. Establish application standards, architecture principles, and best practices across the enterprise application ecosystem. Report Development and Data Visualization Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL-based reports using tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and/or other reporting platforms. Work closely with institutional departments (e.g., Enrollment, Institutional Research, Finance) to gather reporting requirements and translate them into effective data solutions. Automate recurring reports and data pulls to streamline operational efficiency. Troubleshoot and revise existing reports to ensure data accuracy and relevance. Leadership and Team Management Lead, mentor, and manage application-focused staff, including application managers, analysts, developers, database professionals, and support personnel. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer service. Oversee workload planning, resource allocation, professional development, and performance management for the enterprise applications team. Enterprise Application Implementation and Lifecycle Management Oversee the full lifecycle of enterprise applications, including planning, configuration, implementation, optimization, upgrades, and decommissioning. Ensure enterprise systems are reliable, scalable, secure, and optimized for performance in the Azure Cloud environment. Guide major system implementations, upgrades, and integrations, coordinating internal teams, vendors, and consultants. Ensure robust backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies are in place for all mission-critical applications. Cross-Functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement Partner with Finance, Enrollment Management, Institutional Research, Student Services, Human Resources, and other campus leaders to translate business needs into effective technology solutions. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on enterprise application capabilities, risks, and opportunities. Lead requirements gathering, process improvement, and change management efforts related to enterprise systems. System Optimization, Data Integrity, and Integration Ensure enterprise applications deliver maximum business value through optimization, automation, and integration. Oversee data integration, APIs, and system interfaces to ensure seamless data flow between Jenzabar and other institutional systems. Establish and enforce data quality, data governance, and system performance standards. Ensure reporting, analytics, and visualization tools support operational and strategic decision-making. Security, Compliance, and Risk Management Ensure enterprise applications comply with applicable regulatory, security, and privacy requirements, leveraging Azure security controls and institutional policies. Partner with IT security and compliance teams to manage access controls, authentication, authorization, and audit readiness. Manage application-related risks, vendor dependencies, and contractual obligations. Budget and Vendor Management Develop and manage budgets for enterprise applications, including licensing, maintenance, cloud services, and professional services. Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and service-level agreements. Evaluate cost efficiency and return on investment for enterprise technology initiatives. Requirements: Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Significant experience leading enterprise application environments, preferably in higher education or a complex organizational setting. Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams and cross-functional initiatives. Deep knowledge of enterprise systems such as ERP, SIS, CRM, HRIS, financial systems, and reporting platforms. Strong understanding of Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Cloud services, and enterprise application architecture. Experience with system integration, APIs, data migration, and application modernization. Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions. Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience with Jenzabar ERP/SIS in a higher education environment. Familiarity with IT service management and project methodologies such as ITIL, PMP, Agile, or similar frameworks. Experience with reporting and analytics platforms such as SSRS, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent tools. Relevant certifications in enterprise systems, cloud platforms, or IT leadership. Additional Information: Location: Roxbury Community College, 1234 Columbus Ave, Boston, MA 02120 Compensation: $83,000.00-110,000.00 Unit Status: Non-Unit Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
