Position Summary: The Assistant Controller supports the Controller in overseeing the daily accounting operations of the organization. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, ensuring compliance with GAAP, strengthening internal controls, and assisting with audit preparation. You approach audits with organization and confidence, ensuring documentation is complete and deadlines are met. You balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution-comfortable diving into details while keeping the big picture in mind. You maintain discretion and integrity when handling sensitive financial information. You are adaptable, collaborative, and willing to cross-train to support continuity across the accounting function. You manage competing deadlines effectively, particularly during close, audit, and reporting cycles. You are proactive in identifying process improvements and enhancing operational efficiency. You communicate clearly and professionally with leadership, cross-functional teams, and external auditors. You are comfortable preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements with minimal oversight. You are highly detail-oriented and take pride in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger. What you'll do: Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations Prepare and support internal and external financial reporting Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP Develop and maintain management reports and financial analysis to support decision-making Oversee general ledger accuracy and integrity Assist in maintaining and improving internal controls Support annual audit preparation and coordination with external auditors Review AR/AP processes and provide oversight as needed Assist with cash flow monitoring and reporting Support budgeting and forecasting processes Oversee sales tax review, reporting, and filing requirements Assist with nexus studies and registration in new states as required Review, approve, and process employee expense reports in accordance with company policy Ensure proper documentation, coding, and timely reimbursement of expenses Manage and administer the company travel booking platform Monitor travel expenses for compliance with company guidelines and budget controls Reconcile travel-related expenses and corporate credit card statements Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures and operational efficiency Cross-train with team members to ensure continuity of operations Perform other duties as assigned What you'll bring: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required 5+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles Experience assisting with financial statement preparation Experience supporting annual audits Experience with ERP systems (Business Central preferred) Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial analysis, reporting) Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite What We Offer: Progressive Compensation Package Healthcare Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision and Prescription Drugs) Wellness program 401k with Company match Paid Time Off 12 Paid Holidays Flexible work hours Life Insurance and Disability Coverage On site gym (Littleton facility) On-Going Training & Development Our comprehensive, competitive benefits program is an important part of your total compensation package.
