Wage Range: $20-26.50 POSITION TITLE: QUALITY INSPECTOR LEVEL 1 Position Summary: The Quality Inspector reports to the Quality Manager and is responsible for the daily operation of quality inspection functions. Position Duties: Include, but are not limited to, • Perform part inspections per company quality procedures, customer specification, and standard industrial practices. • Coordinate scheduling of parts through inspection. • Communicate with all departments regarding quality and scheduling issues. • Organize, maintain, and complete job-related quality documentation as specified by quality procedures and the work order. • Perform transactions in ERP software. • Maintain a clean and organized work area and tools to promote safe, accurate, and efficient operation. • Promote continuous process improvement through daily involvement in company activities and by communicating effectively with all staff members. • Perform other duties as assigned, in-process inspection, etc. Required Skills: • Possess very strong interpersonal communication skills. • Maintain a strong understanding of quality assurance and quality assurance practices. • Maintain a strong understanding and acceptance of the company Quality Management System, and related procedures. • Maintain industrial knowledge of basic inspection devices. • Strong Problem-solving skills. • Proficient with Microsoft Office. • Proficient with Time Management. • Basic shop math skills. • Attention to detail. • Blueprint reading. • Technical and analytical skills Physical Requirements: • The employee is in a clean (5s'd), and climate-controlled manufacturing environment with state-of-the-art filtration systems. In this environment there is exposure to moderate to loud noise, dust, fumes and vapor from coolant, etc. • There is a frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, twist, bend, lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) Full range of motion with both hands. • Manual Dexterity: Use fingers to grasp, move, or count very small objects • Must be able to stand for the duration of an 8-hour shift. • Personal protective equipment will be required and provided. • The job involves time pressure and performing well under stress. • Employment includes being able to sustain working rapidly for long periods and to communicate and interact with others. There are multiple priorities to juggle including reading and comprehending written materials. The employee must have the ability to write and solve shop math. • Excellent attendance is necessary to keep production running. 40 hours per week is typical to accomplish performance objectives. • Visual Acuity: The ability to see details at close range (usually 12 inches or less) is crucial. Near-vision efficiency should be comparable to 20/20, either naturally or corrected with eyewear. • Color Vision: Quality inspectors must be able to distinguish colors accurately, as this is essential for identifying defects or issues that may be color-coded. • Depth Perception: Inspectors need good depth perception to gauge the dimensions of parts and detect any irregularities. • Field of Vision: A wide field of vision is beneficial when inspecting parts, as it allows for a broader view without the need to move the head excessively. • Contrast Sensitivity: The ability to discern subtle differences in shades or textures can be important, especially when using microscopes or other magnification tools. • Focus Flexibility: The ability to quickly refocus eyes when looking at different parts or switching between the inspection equipment and the computer screen. • Hand-Eye Coordination: While not a direct vision requirement, the ability to coordinate hand movements with visual input is essential for handling small parts and using inspection tools effectively.
