Assistant Nurse Manager Opportunity – Pulmonary Progressive Care Title: Assistant Nurse Manager Schedule: 6AM-2:30PM, Full-time Days Department: Pulmonary Progressive Care Location: Forsyth Medical Center – Winston Salem, NC Be Part of Something Truly UniqueJoin the largest and one of the most dynamic Med/Surg units in the hospital. Novant Health"s Pulmonary Unit delivers high-acuity care to a diverse respiratory population, including patients with pneumonia, COPD, pulmonary embolism, influenza, respiratory failure and COVID-19.This unit offers nurses the opportunity to sharpen advanced clinical skills in a fast-paced, team-driven environment—managing tracheostomies, ventilators, CPAP/BIPAP, and chest tubes—while making a meaningful impact on patients at some of their most critical moments.What You"ll Do Lead and support bedside RNs in daily operations Serve as a real-time resource for clinical and operational issues Foster a positive, accountable, and engaged team culture Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance management Address and manage employee relations situations professionally Maintain high standards for patient care and team communication What Makes Someone Successful in This Role Leads people — not just manages tasks Comfortable handling difficult conversations and discipline when necessary Highly personable and visible on the unit Flexibility Able to support both new graduate nurses and highly experienced staff Thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on leadership environment Growth & Development Direct mentorship and leadership development Opportunity to step into future Nurse Manager role Hands-on training and support from senior leadership Exposure to recruitment, staffing strategy, and operational management #TriadRN25What We're Looking For Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree BSN, required. Graduate Degree, preferred. Experience: Minimum of two years of clinical RN experience, preferred. Prior demonstrated nursing leadership, preferred. Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required. NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required. Unit/Dept Specific Required Certifications, required. Additional Skills (required): Successful completion of generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Ability to successfully complete Leader Education & Training.
