Position Description General Summary A Class A DOT Driver operates a variety of equipment including; semi-tractor with trailer, dump truck and water truck. Pay Range $21.50-$28.00 Essential Job Functions 1. Regular and reliable attendance. 2. Prepared and on time for scheduled shift with proper PPE. 3. Responsible for Daily Shift validations. 4. Must possess a valid Class A driver License with air brakes and all Endorsements necessary to comply with DOT requirements for the equipment being operated. 5. Perform and fill out pre-trip vehicle inspection before leaving the yard, check all fluids/tires/lights/ and all signs as listed on pre-trip. 6. Perform monthly tool audits on equipment and ensure compliance (vehicle registration/ fire extinguisher). 7. Have appropriate license and certifications to operate the equipment being used. 8. Gather appropriate job permits and ensure they are filled out correctly with correct signatures. 9. Follow and/or complete the Detailed Daily Work Plan (DDWP) and ensure crew actively participates, knows and follows each procedure. 10. Perform a job walk to identify all potential hazards around working area (underground and overhead utilities) and take procedural actions to mitigate or eliminate if any found. 11. Responsible to load and unload material needed for each job. 12. Perform tasks assigned by PLW or Foreman such as operating equipment in a safe and efficient manner. 13. Participate in safe work, safety audits and near hits processes. 14. Test the job site for immediate respiratory dangers like H2S or oxygen deficient and know how to read a monitor. 15. Develop knowledge of KSI PPM-SOPs and refer to them prior to each task. 16. Follow all KS Industries, LP safety, and customer policies and procedures. 17. Follow all applicable Federal, State and local driving laws. 18. Shall perform all physical and mental requirements listed. Position Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Ability to read and write in English • Ability to comprehend and communicate instructions in English • Ability to communicate with employees and various business partners in a professional and courteous manner. • Knowledge of Lock Out/ Tag Out process • Knowledge of hauling and towing capacity (GVWR) • Knowledge of technology (iPads, cellphones etc.). • Knowledge of binding and securing equipment and loads for travel • Knowledge of Stop Work Authority (SWA) • Ability to complete KSI and Customer required training • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of industry specific safety standards Education and Experience Preferably 2-3 years of industry experience along with knowledge of tools. Physical & Mental RequirementsWorking Conditions: The locations vary from site to site. Work is physically demanding and requires the ability to concentrate well on the job at hand, in all types of weather. Majority of the work is construction-based work. Walking and working surface vary depending on the terrain, from flat to extreme slopes and frozen, wet, snowy and slippery conditions. Working Hours: Normally, a full-time employee will work 40 hours per week, depending on the factors such as weather and schedules. Work schedules and hours may vary depending on specific client locations and projects. In general, applicable work schedules include 5-8's and 4-10's. All labor laws in reference to rest breaks and meal periods will be followed.
