A Brief Overview Desired Candidate will possess a strong understanding of government and commercial billing as well as knowledge of reimbursement procedures and regulations with a preferred focus on hospital billing. Candidate will be team oriented and will demonstrate comprehensive organizational skills while possessing excellent communication skills The Senior Billing Specialist is responsible for the billing and resolution of claims submitted as well as analysis and reporting on outstanding receivables for multiple and/or complex programs. What you will do Reviews patient accounts for accuracy and completeness of charges, insurance, UB04, billing information. Submits claims via the appropriate mode of submission, i.e. electronic or hard copy. Monitors and completes all outstanding claims on assigned disposition lists. Effectively works complex and large dollar accounts which require a high level of expertise. Assists in training of new staff. Coordinates work flow of department with Supervisor and staff as needed. Researches and monitors A/R. Researches patterns on denied claims. Works directly with staff to ensure timely follow up and other goals are met. Multitask between different projects throughout the day per supervisor’s needs. Answers biller questions as needed. Education Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent experience Required and Bachelor's Degree Preferred Experience Qualifications 4-6 years 3 - 5 years collection/billing experience Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Comprehensive knowledge of insurance and medical billing including solid understanding of CPT ICD 10 and ERA 835. Strong communication, problem solving and research skills needed. Working knowledge of Excel/Work skill also required.
