Job Summary: This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity for a licensed Radiology Technologist to work within Immediate Care Centers serving the Midwest region. The position involves a schedule that includes every other weekend and holiday rotations. Role Overview: The Radiology Technologist supports physicians and advanced providers by delivering patient care for episodic visits related to minor illnesses, injuries, or routine evaluations. Responsibilities include obtaining diagnostic digital images, assisting with patient registration and discharge, data collection, treatment planning, patient education, follow-up, and aiding daily clinic operations under the guidance of an RN or provider. Essential Responsibilities Registration/Discharge: Expertly use current computer systems (such as Meditech, EMR, and PACS) to facilitate patient care documentation. Verify insurance and identification, review diagnosis and procedural codes for accuracy, ensure billing correctness, discuss care plans with patients before discharge, and manage telephone communications collaboratively. Clinical Duties: Prepare patients for examinations based on their complaints, promptly communicate urgent arrivals to nursing or providers, collect and document initial patient data per clinic policies, assist in scheduling diagnostic procedures, and obtain necessary authorizations for tests like PT, MRI, or Ultrasound. Diagnostic Testing and Treatment: Initiate delegated tests and treatments, produce high-quality digital images, adhere to radiation safety protocols, operate and troubleshoot radiology equipment, follow age-appropriate radiology protocols, document treatments and patient responses, maintain laboratory competencies per regulatory standards, and demonstrate proficiency in related technical skills such as splinting, phlebotomy, urine drug screening, and EKG testing. Medication Administration: Administer medications as directed, document accordingly, and ensure pharmaceutical records comply with regulations. Supply Management: Order and manage clinic supplies efficiently to maintain operational levels. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required. Graduate of a Limited or Associate Degree Radiology Technologist program; Associate Degree preferred. Working knowledge of medical terminology, procedural, and diagnostic coding. Proficient computer user. Basic Life Support certification, which may be obtained upon hire. Tuberculin Screening Tester Certification, which may be obtained upon hire. At least one year of experience in a medical office setting, preferably in Family Medicine, Orthopedics, or Immediate Care. Licensure Must hold certification as a Radiology Technologist by the state health department. Work Schedule Varied shifts totaling 38 hours per week.
