Wound Ostomy Nurse (RN)Location: 4041 MacArthur Blvd., Suite 100, Newport Beach, CA Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks from start date Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:30 AM-5:00 PM Bill Rate: $100/hour Position Summary The Wound Ostomy Nurse (RN) functions as a clinical resource for patients and staff in the areas of ostomy care, continence disorders, acute and chronic wounds, skin breakdown, and fistula management. This role provides direct patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings and plays a key role in education, prevention, and quality improvement initiatives related to wound and skin care. Key Responsibilities Serve as a clinical resource for ostomy, wound, continence, and skin care management Provide direct wound and ostomy care in inpatient and outpatient settings Deliver pre- and post-operative patient and family education Assist in the evaluation and selection of wound/skin care products and equipment Provide educational programs, in-services, and bedside teaching for nursing staff Maintain up-to-date knowledge of wound and skin care practices and share advancements with staff Assess all patients with Stage 3 or higher pressure injuries Evaluate and manage Hospital Acquired Pressure Injuries (HAPI) and meet reporting requirements Assess hospital-wide practices and implement strategies to reduce and eliminate HAPIs Required QualificationsEducation & Experience: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - Required Minimum of four (4) years of clinical nursing experience - Required Two (2) years of wound and ostomy experience - Preferred Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California - Required (must be current and in good standing) Certification: Wound and Ostomy Certification - Required Core Competencies Infection Control Patient Safety Patient Counseling Strong Oral and Written Communication Technology & Equipment Proficiency Initiative and Interpersonal Skills Diversity & Inclusion Awareness Organizational Competencies: Business Acumen Customer Satisfaction Innovation Trust & Accountability
