If you exhibit these qualities, Raines Co. will be a great opportunity for you to realize your full potential.Established in 1988 as a family-owned business, we have grown into a fully integrated development, management, and investment company that develops, operates, and owns the world’s leading hotel brands as well as boutique hotels. Raines has maintained a family-oriented culture that believes in building relationships with our associates, with our partners and within the communities where we operate.We offer comprehensive Medical/Dental/Vision benefits, 401K, a generous PTO program, and the opportunity to join a winning culture recognized for rewarding our best with opportunities to advance their career within the company. Position Summary: The Chief Engineer is responsible for the overall maintenance of all hotel facilities and directs, coordinates, and performs routine preventive and emergency repairs to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of hotel operations.Essential Job Functions  Train and supervise the hourly Engineering staff and coordinate all schedulingReview Engineering staff's worked hours for payroll compilation and submit to accounting on a timely basisFocus the Engineering Department on their role in contributing to the guest satisfactionMotivate coach counsel and discipline all Engineering personnel according to company standardsPrepare and conduct all Engineering interviews and follow hiring proceduresAttend weekly staff meetings and provide training on a rotational basisRespond to employee emergency situations using information contained in M.S.D. sheets. Keep M.S.D. sheets current and easily available (with Executive Housekeeper)Establish ongoing training for all departments especially Housekeeping Front Desk and Kitchen to maintain basic upkeep of their departments and equipmentUse company-wide tools, systems and applications without exceptionAdhere to budgeted expense allotments using proper procedures for all purchases and keep all necessary items (light bulbs name tags etc.) stockedCoordinate all inspections of life-safety systems including extinguishers smoke alarms etc. to maintain proper safety standardsManage energy expenses and continually work towards energy conservationEnsure that the Preventative Maintenance program is implemented and administeredEvaluate and spot check the work of all staff and contractors or outside laborersHandle guestroom maintenance requests in a timely and efficient mannerMaintain files of and be familiar with all operational manuals and warranty agreements for equipmentImmediately follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause; determine emergency status and report to Guest Services and/or the General Manager with findingsEnsure that employees are at all times attentive friendly courteous and helpful to guests all other employeesAct as emergency contact personAttend monthly all-employee meetings and any other functions required by managementCoordinate fire drills and the training of all employees on safety proceduresEstablish and maintain key control systemConduct daily property tour of the hotel and exterior perimeter for debris and trash removal; Check the lighting and irrigation periodicallyRespond to calls for service, regardless of the day/night and time Experience and Education: Prior Chief Engineer and Supervisor experienceExperience leading teams in all areas of maintenance Experience with brand standardsProficiency with basic hand-tools and power equipmentProficient in Microsoft 365 or similar computer applicationsMinimum High school diploma, GED or equivalentCurrent certifications as required by Federal, State or Local governing agents pertaining to trade requirements (HVAC, Pool Operation, etc)Raines is proud to be an Equal Opportunity EmployerWe are an equal opportunity employer.
