Deliver focused speech therapy that enhances communication, language processing, fluency, and swallowing abilities on a one-on-one basis. Engage in collaboration with occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and relatives to construct comprehensive care plans. Educate patients and their families to ensure continuous progress beyond therapy sessions. Support inpatient evaluations and therapeutic interventions when necessary, ensuring a smooth continuum of care. Keep meticulous and timely records in accordance with state, federal, and institutional requirements. Commit to continuous professional development, staying abreast of the latest advancements in speech-language pathology. Education A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution is required. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is essential if the applicant is not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is highly preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first month of employment. Skills Expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities for all ages, along with a robust understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
