At various times throughout the year Soldiers’ Angels needs volunteers to support various events as both unofficial and official representatives of the organization. The Special Event Volunteer is responsible for working with Soldiers’ Angels staff to support the needs of volunteers at special events such as volunteer fairs, holiday events, fundraisers, donation drops, volunteer opportunities representing Soldiers’ Angels, and other short term event volunteering needs. Volunteer need may range from multiple times a month to less than once a month. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Be able to attend events as needed with notification ranging from well in advance or short term. Assist Soldiers’ Angels staff and Key Role volunteers in representing Soldiers’ Angels at events. Communicate key points of Soldiers’ Angels mission and programs as needed. Assist in event preparation, for example aiding in making event kits or preparing materials for transportation. Complete Volunteer Service Training. Learn and demonstrate best practices. QUALIFICATIONS: Willing to be flexible. Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work with a diverse variety of individuals. Positive attitude in a public setting.
