Collaborate with a range of healthcare professionals including nurses, physicians, and caregivers to ensure a unified approach to patient care. Educate patients and their families to reinforce progress beyond the therapy sessions. Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations, providing comprehensive continuity of care during each patient's healing journey. Document patient progress accurately and promptly, adhering to regulatory and organizational standards. Engage in ongoing professional development through advanced training and teamwork with peers. Education A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet achieved. Certifications Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) through ASHA is desirable. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first 30 days of employment. Skills Deep knowledge of evidence-based practices applicable across all ages, with a strong foundation in both developmental and acquired speech and language disorders. Outstanding communication skills, fostering trust and rapport with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Flexibility in adapting therapy methods to meet varied cultural and linguistic needs. Robust clinical judgment and a knack for innovative problem-solving.
