Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine PET/CT Technologist to join a dynamic healthcare team in the Midwest region. This role involves performing a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative in the use of radionuclides for diagnosing and treating diseases. The technologist will produce high-quality PET/CT images while prioritizing patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality. Key Responsibilities Prepare, calibrate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals following safety protocols and physician instructions. Conduct PET/CT imaging procedures adhering to departmental and industry standards. Operate PET/CT scanners and related equipment to capture diagnostic-quality images. Verify patient identity, review medical history, and clearly explain procedures to patients and their families to ensure understanding and comfort. Monitor patients during imaging for safety and respond promptly to their needs. Follow radiation safety principles and comply with regulatory requirements. Process, analyze, and transfer imaging data to PACS and reporting systems accurately. Maintain detailed documentation of administered doses, patient information, and imaging records. Assist with scheduling, patient preparation instructions, and quality assurance/control activities. Engage in continuing education, staff training, and quality improvement initiatives. Demonstrate flexibility and resourcefulness in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks effectively. Education and Certification Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program. Current ARRT (N) and/or NMTCB certification required; ARRT (CT) preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association is required. Experience and Skills At least one year of clinical experience in Nuclear Medicine or PET/CT preferred; new graduates are welcome to apply. Experience with PET/CT technology, oncology imaging, or cardiac imaging is advantageous. Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine, radiopharmaceutical handling, and cross-sectional anatomy. Proficient in operating PET/CT scanners and related imaging equipment. Excellent patient care, communication, and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively. Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations. Completion or willingness to complete Mandatory Reporter training within six months of hire.
