Join Our Team as a Travel Surgical Technician! Are you a dedicated and skilled Operating Room Surgical Technician looking for an exciting opportunity? We offer flexible scheduling options tailored to your lifestyle-choose from 3x 12-hour shifts, 4x 10-hour shifts, or 5x 8-hour shifts. Discuss on-call options during your interview, with many positions offering no on-call requirements! Your Responsibilities Will Include: Preparing the Operating Room: Create a safe and sterile environment, ensuring all equipment is fully functional. Patient Preparation: Disinfect incision sites and transport patients smoothly to the operating room. Assisting During Surgery: Pass sterile instruments, assist with organ placement, and maintain a sterile field throughout the procedure. Counting Supplies: Verify that all instruments and sponges are accounted for pre- and post-surgery to prevent any foreign object retention. Post-Operative Care: Provide wound care through bandaging and dressing incisions, and ensure the operating room is restocked and ready for the next surgery. Quality Improvement: Engage in debriefings and quality enhancement practices to improve patient care standards. Ideal Candidates Will: Have a strong understanding of human anatomy and surgical procedures, coupled with expertise in sterile and aseptic techniques. The ability to stand for long periods and maintain focus during operations is crucial. Requirements: Education: Surgical tech training (formal or informal) is required, with preference given to candidates holding relevant certification. Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory. Certification in a clinical specialty area is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Proficient with computers and a variety of software applications. Strong verbal and written communication skills; capable of presenting information clearly and professionally. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with a strong ability to manage time efficiently. Self-directed with sound judgment.
