Utility Trailer is the leading trailer manufacturer of quality, light weight, high value dry vans, reefers (refrigerated vans), flatbeds and customizable commercial trailers in the world. Our Enterprise, AL plant is currently accepting applications for a Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) equipment/materials procurement/buyer position. Shift:Day Shift – Monday through Friday, 7:00AM through 3:30PM. Required to work weekends as needed. Job Responsibility: Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize opportunities in cost and savings and value in our maintenance operations. Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of high-quality material and services. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all purchasing activities are aligned with the company’s business objectives. Implement lean manufacturing principles to improve the efficiency of the MRO/purchasing process. Monitor and report on supplier performance to ensure that all contractual obligations are met. Conduct cost analysis and negotiate pricing with suppliers to achieve cost savings. Which includes price checking from vendor to vendor. Maintain accurate purchasing records and provide regular reports to management. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Manage the MRO equipment/parts/materials inventory to company defined goals. Ability to use and operate Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe. Help implement and maintain the new maintenance program: Limble. Includes working with mechanics to develop Preventive Maintenance PM procedures on Plant equipment to identify work steps, required tools and parts/materials to perform the job. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Could be anywhere in the shop, as needed. Be a positive influence. Always look for better materials, improved quality, or shorter lead times to improve the process. Reports directly to Maintenance Manager. Organize the maintenance shop using the 5S platform. Open to outside training as needed or required. Duties may change according to company needs. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs to move material in and out of storage. Education, Experience and Skills Requirements: 2 + years of experience in purchasing is preferred. Strong knowledge of purchasing principles and procedures. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Industrial Maintenance experience in a Manufacturing operation a plus.
