Job Details Location: Marion, NC 28752 (McDowell County, Blue Ridge Mountains; near Asheville) Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel Respiratory Therapist / Hospital Respiratory Therapist Setting: Hospital - Cardiopulmonary/Respiratory Therapy (ICU, ED, Labor & Delivery, Med/Surg) Employment Type: Travel Contract - Respiratory Therapist travel job Contract Duration: 13 weeks (March 16, 2026 - June 15, 2026) Hours per Week: 36 Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) Estimated Weekly Pay Range: $1,220 - $1,310 Weekend Coverage: Possible (typical for hospital respiratory positions) EMR: Cerner Dress Code: Medium grey scrubs Required Qualifications & Certifications Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (primary keyword) Minimum 1 year acute care respiratory therapy experience (ICU/ED preferred) - strong preference for ICU ventilator experience Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and advanced airway procedures Experience with neonatal resuscitation (NRP) and baby resuscitation preferred Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients across ICU, ED, L&D, and Med/Surg units Operate and manage advanced respiratory equipment, including V60, GE R860 Carescape ventilators, Vapotherm, Comfort Flow HFNC, HT70 transport vents, and Hamilton C1 Vent/BiPAP Perform intubations, arterial blood gas (ABG) draws and interpretation, and adjust ventilator settings per protocols Administer respiratory therapies: incentive spirometry, forced vital capacity (FVC/FV), EZPAP, BiPAP, and nebulizer treatments Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Cerner EMR Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes What We're Looking For Caring, family-oriented clinicians who are strong critical thinkers Respiratory therapists comfortable with high-acuity patients and independent decision-making Providers who value teamwork and clear communication across hospital units Why Marion, NC: Enjoy the scenic foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, outdoor recreation, and a welcoming community-all within commuting distance to Asheville's dining and cultural scene.
