Commercial Drywall Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Drywall Estimator to support preconstruction planning, cost estimating, and bid preparation for interior wall and ceiling construction projects throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area. This role focuses heavily on pre-bid analysis, client coordination, and the preparation of accurate proposals for commercial interior construction work. The estimator will play an important role in project acquisition by performing detailed takeoffs, analyzing drawings and specifications, and communicating effectively with general contractors, owners, and internal teams. Candidates should have strong technical estimating knowledge and be capable of managing multiple bid opportunities while maintaining precision and responsiveness. This position is best suited for a professional with at least five years of drywall estimating experience, ideally within the North Texas construction market. Key Responsibilities Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for drywall systems using architectural drawings, specifications, and addenda packages Prepare complete cost estimates covering labor productivity, materials, equipment, and project conditions Review plans to identify scope gaps, coordination conflicts, or constructability concerns and issue clarifications when needed Analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure accurate cost alignment with regional labor and material markets Prepare professional bid proposals outlining project scope, inclusions, exclusions, and pricing assumptions Participate in internal bid reviews to confirm estimate accuracy and identify potential risk factors Support value engineering discussions and provide cost insights during preconstruction planning Maintain relationships with general contractors, developers, and trade partners across the Dallas–Fort Worth market Attend pre-bid meetings and present scope summaries or pricing rationale when necessary Follow up on submitted bids to improve award success and strengthen client relationships Coordinate project handoff with operations teams to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to project execution Requirements Minimum 5 years of experience estimating commercial drywall or interior construction projects Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and revision documents accurately Experience estimating drywall assemblies including metal framing, gypsum board, insulation, and related interior wall systems Strong communication skills for working with contractors, owners, and internal teams Ability to manage several bids simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail Strong analytical mindset with disciplined estimating processes Preferred Qualifications Experience working in the Dallas–Fort Worth or North Texas construction market Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent industry experience) Exposure to commercial sectors such as office buildings, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, hospitality developments, or mixed-use projects Preferred Technical Skills Experience with estimating tools such as On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Quick Bid, or Bluebeam Revu Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities for cost modeling and bid comparison Knowledge of acoustical ceiling systems or specialty interior construction scopes Experience with negotiated projects, preconstruction budgeting, or design-assist estimating Work Environment Client-facing preconstruction role supporting commercial projects throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth region Occasional local travel for project meetings, pre-bid walkthroughs, and client presentations Close collaboration with operations, project management, and business development teams Benefits Health insurance coverage 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching Paid time off benefits Performance-based incentive opportunities Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates This opportunity is ideal for a construction professional who excels in drywall estimating, bid strategy, and commercial interior construction planning within the Dallas–Fort Worth market.
