KID Museum is looking for a bold, strategic, mission-driven leader to serve as our Managing Director, Advancement. About the Role As KID Museum's senior leader for brand, communications, and revenue, the Managing Director, Advancement will architect an integrated advancement strategy that fuels our growth and national visibility. You will drive brand positioning, lead marketing and communications, steward major donors, oversee a capital campaign, and build high-performing teams - all while helping define the next era of KID Museum's impact. This role reports to the Chief Strategy Officer and serves on the Senior Leadership Team. What You'll Lead Brand, Marketing & Communications Serve as chief brand and narrative strategist Strengthen regional visibility and build national presence Lead messaging across all channels, including campaigns and impact storytelling Build communications systems that connect brand strategy to revenue Development & Revenue Lead a multi-year revenue strategy integrating earned + contributed income Manage and close a portfolio of major donors Drive capital campaign strategy Build strong forecasting, pipeline development, and data-driven fundraising practices Leadership & Strategy Build and lead high-performing Development and Marketing teams Partner across Programs, Impact, Finance, and Operations Advise the Executive Director and Board Help shape long-term organizational strategy Who Thrives Here We're seeking a leader who brings: 12+ years leading advancement, marketing, or communications in education innovation, STEM, youth development, or mission-driven environments Experience leading major gifts and capital campaigns Exceptional storytelling and narrative strategy skills A systems-builder mindset Skill in managing cross-functional teams Deep commitment to equity, innovation, and transforming how young people learn Advanced degree preferred but not required.
