The Vice President of Medical and Scientific Affairs is a critical position that will shape and execute our medical affairs strategy. This role includes overseeing the field MSL team, engaging with key stakeholders, and leading various medical affairs initiatives globally for both investigational and marketed products. Key Responsibilities: Act as an influential player-coach, engaging proactively with external KOLs and stakeholders. Travel up to 30% to meet with KOLs in the field, building vital relationships. Plan, manage, and optimize all global medical affairs activities for our products. Develop and implement effective systems to ensure seamless and compliant medical affairs operations. Create a comprehensive medical education and information strategy, actively engaging in the field. Drive a robust publication strategy, inclusive of manuscript and abstract development. Establish and nurture relationships with KOLs and medical societies to foster scientific collaborations. Generate strategic data aligned with company goals, including HEOR studies. Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing medical affairs team. Provide insightful guidance into trial development and approval processes. Collaborate on the development of accurate educational materials for healthcare providers and patients. Oversee the creation of successful reimbursement and market access strategies. Efficiently manage the medical affairs budget to maximize impact. Core Competencies: Exceptional emotional intelligence that fosters trust and high performance. A hands-on approach with a sense of urgency, especially in fast-paced settings. Qualifications: 15+ years of experience in Medical Affairs. Preferred: 2+ years in a leadership position as VP of Medical Affairs. A minimum of 7 years in leadership roles within medical affairs, preferably in biotech. MD required; clinical expertise in oncology or hematology is a plus. Experience in Rare Disease, Primary Care, and Oncology is advantageous. Demonstrated success in managing product launches and lifecycle management. Established connections with oncology institutions are preferred. Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe software. This position necessitates approximately 30% travel. The base salary for this role ranges from $315,100 to $393,900, with additional benefits including merit-based salary increases, participation in incentive plans, eligibility for 401(k), health insurance options, paid time off, and other competitive perks.
