Position Overview: The Lifeguard Supervisor is responsible for ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming aquatic environment for members and guests at the private venue. This role oversees all lifeguard staff, enforces safety protocols, ensures regulatory compliance, and maintains exceptional member service standards. The Lifeguard Supervisor leads by example, serving as the senior safety authority during assigned shifts and responding to all aquatic emergencies. Responsibilities:Supervise daily aquatic operations to ensure compliance with all local and state health and safety regulations. Act as the lead responder for all aquatic emergencies, including water rescues, first aid, and CPR/AED situations. Ensure appropriate lifeguard coverage based on attendance levels and pool usage. Conduct daily facility inspections including pool deck, water clarity, rescue equipment, signage, and first aid supplies. Maintain incident/accident reports and ensure timely documentation and follow-up. Enforce all pool rules consistently and professionally. Support risk management initiatives and proactively identify potential hazards. Supervise, train, and mentor lifeguards and pool attendants. Lead pre-shift safety briefings and regular team meetings. Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and evaluating lifeguard staff. Prepare weekly schedules to ensure adequate staffing coverage. Monitor timekeeping and ensure adherence to labor guidelines. Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching as needed. Deliver exceptional service aligned with the venue's hospitality standards. Address member concerns promptly and professionally. Ensure a welcoming, family-friendly, and safe environment at all times. Support special events, swim meets, and private functions held in the aquatic area. Monitor pool chemistry logs and coordinate with maintenance/vendors to ensure water quality compliance. Oversee opening and closing procedures of the aquatic facility. Ensure cleanliness of the pool deck, locker areas, and surrounding amenities. Assist with inventory management of rescue equipment and supplies. Performing any other tasks assigned by leadership Experience: Preferred: Two (2) - Three (3) years experience in lifeguarding; prior supervisor experience Preferred: Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) certification Preferred: Current Lifeguard Certification (Red Cross or equivalent) Required: CPR/AED Schedule: Days and start times TBD based on business needs 5-6 day work week Flexibility to work hours needed based on event schedules Environment: Varying temperature based on outdoor environment Skills: Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 35 - 45lbs.; Ability to swim 300+ yards continuously (per certification standards) and perform water rescues; Sitting or standing for extended periods of time; remaining alert for extended periods of time - 4 - 8 hours per shift Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill executive directions in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines Working in a team based environment: Working independently and as a team player Quality: Maintain integrity and high standards from all perspectives Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift
