Industry Computer Software Company Type Privately Held, VC-backed Established 2022 Team Size 11-50 employees Funding $11-$25 million Role Overview We are looking for a skilled Lead for Product Experimentation and Machine Learning, also known as a Staff Data Scientist. In this crucial position, you will take the technical and strategic lead on our product experimentation and evaluation processes. Your primary responsibility will be to design, execute, and scale machine-learning-driven experiments that enhance various aspects of our platform, including ordering accuracy, automation quality, conversion rates, reliability, and merchant success. In this role, you will combine strategic oversight with hands-on execution, transforming ideas into rigorously controlled experiments, developing predictive models, and translating insights into actionable product and roadmap initiatives. You will lead and mentor a dedicated team of data scientists and analysts, upholding the highest standards of experimentation, modeling, and evaluation within our organization. We are seeking candidates with 8-12+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or applied experimentation, along with a proven track record in product experimentation and A/B testing. A strong foundation in machine learning, statistical modeling, and causal inference is essential, as well as experience in building and assessing predictive models in production settings. Proficiency in coding, particularly in Python (or similar languages), strong SQL skills, and the capability to translate technical findings into product and business outcomes are crucial for success in this role. The ideal candidate will have experience with experimenting platforms, deploying machine-learning models in high-volume environments, and working with NLP, LLMs, or automation systems. You will play a key role in driving experimentation at scale, balancing the need for speed and rigor while maximizing business impact in our dynamic environment.
