Part-Time Pickleball Program Coordinator

Pickleball Program Coordinator We are searching for an experienced Pickleball Program Coordinator at our MEBANE ARTS AND COMMUNITY CENTER facility. The City of Mebane is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and dependable individual to serve as the Pickleball Program Coordinator. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, leading, and overseeing the City's recreational pickleball activities for youth and adults. The coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for participants, manage weekly pickleball programming, supervise program staff and volunteers, and help grow the sport within the community. Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week during peak season, with additional hours available during the offseason. Job Responsibilities: Develop and implement seasonal pickleball leagues, clinics, and open play sessions. Assist participants in developing and improving various pickleball skills. Teach the fundamental rules, techniques, and strategies of pickleball. Experience facilitating and/or officiating pickleball tournaments. Create schedules, coordinate facility usage, and ensure programs run smoothly. Recruit, train, and supervise part-time staff, officials, and volunteers as needed. Serve as an on-site supervisor during weeknight activities, weekend tournaments, and other special events. Monitor equipment and inventory needs; ensure the courts are safe and well-maintained. Provide excellent customer service and respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner. Assist with evaluating programs and making recommendations for improvement. Required Qualifications: Basic knowledge of pickleball rules and techniques (formal training is not required). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage and motivate participants of all ages and backgrounds. Passion for sports and a desire to share that passion with others. Previous experience in coaching, teaching, or leading recreational activities is a plus but not required. CPR and First Aid certifications are a plus but not required Have both weeknight and weekend availability during pickleball seasons.
