Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing compassionate and efficient care in a busy clinical setting. As an Advanced Licensed Practical Nurse, you will support physicians and mid-level providers by performing patient assessments, administering treatments, conducting testing, and delivering patient education. This role requires excellent organizational skills, professionalism, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: - Adhere to clinic policies ensuring patient safety, including infection control and safe patient handling. - Administer medications via oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous routes as prescribed. - Assist providers during procedures, maintain sterile fields, and manage instrument trays. - Support examinations within the scope of your license. - Conduct phone triage and act as a liaison between patients and providers. - Communicate test results to patients, answer questions, and assist with follow-up calls. - Document patient complaints and visit details accurately. - Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs and measurements. - Update and review patient medication lists. - Perform point-of-care lab testing and collect specimens as ordered. - Educate patients on electronic health record tools and provide supportive teaching. - Schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including obtaining necessary authorizations. - Train new LPNs and medical assistants in clinic procedures. Education: Graduation from an accredited LPN program and completion of an approved IV therapy course. Experience: Previous nursing or healthcare experience is preferred but not mandatory. Certifications and Licenses: Current LPN license valid in the region and American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required. Physical and Mental Requirements: Requires considerable mental focus, ability to lift up to 35 lbs, and perform activities involving standing, walking, turning, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching. Working Conditions: Frequent exposure to infectious diseases and occasional encounters with hostile individuals. Exposure to communicable diseases through blood and bodily fluids is common. Minimal physical discomfort is expected.
