HVAC Technician Lead

Title: HVAC Technician Lead VP Area: Administration & Finance - UMW Department: HVAC Campus Location: Main Campus Advertised Range: $51,069 - $55,000 Job Summary/Basic Functions The University of Mary Washington has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a HVAC Technician Lead. In this role, you will perform highly skilled repair, maintenance and/or installation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in one or more of the following modes: serves as project leader; serves as team leader and/or team member; works independently to provide senior-level HVAC work. Backup EMS technician and HVAC Manager in their absence and become gas fitter certified. Required KSAs/Competencies/QualificationsAdvanced knowledge of all aspects of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Advanced knowledge of HVAC operation, repair, maintenance, and installation. Advanced skills in the use of HVAC diagnostic equipment and hand tools. Demonstrated ability to install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems. Demonstrated ability to trouble shoot and diagnose repair problems. Demonstrated ability to work in confined spaces. Demonstrated ability to work from heights, and from ladders and scaffolding. Demonstrated ability to lift and carry equipment and tools. Required Experience:Extensive experience in HVAC operation, repair, maintenance, and installation. Additional Considerations:EDUCATIONHigh school/GED or related experience. Vocational training or course work in HVAC/R. ExperienceExperience with Building Automation Systems, Automated Logic WebCTRL, Trane Tracer Summit, and Johnson Controls Metasys. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONJourneyman/Master's License in HVAC. Special Instructions This position is open until filled.
