Position ProfilePosition: Assistant Principal School/Department: North Middle School Reports To: Principal, Stephanie Leasure FTE: 1.0 Days/Year: 207 Salary Grade: E79A Salary Range: $ 87,462 - $98,497 Salary Schedule: 2025-2026 Executive Professional Salary Schedule, School Based Positions (Group B) FLSA Status: Exempt Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United StatesSUMMARY OF FUNCTION Assists the principal in the overall administration of school functions. Assists in staff development, evaluations, discipline, budgeting, and daily school administration. Responsibilities in assessing needs, data collection and analysis, and designing programs to increase student achievement using a continuous improvement model. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Serve as an instructional leader by monitoring implementation of professional development in classrooms and grade level/content area meeting. Implement and monitor school-wide behavioral expectations and policies including monitoring attendance trends and overseeing truancy interventions; address safety and welfare issues by holding meetings with parents, investigating incidents, documenting findings, contacting proper authorities and conforming to legal requirements and regulations. Create partnerships with parents and community. Supervise employees by assigning and directing work, interviewing, evaluating performance, disciplining and resolving issues. Implement instructional and assessment strategies by collecting and analyzing student achievement data, facilitating discussions among teachers and staff and working with the Principal and District Coaches to plan professional development. Address building management concerns by working with the custodial staff, office staff, teachers and District staff including implementing school-wide safety and emergency protocols. Collaborate and develop master schedules and plan, schedule, and coordinate school projects. Attend and/or facilitate school's Instructional Support Team including monitoring interventions put in place to assist students with diverse needs. Resolve student issues by meeting with students, parents, teachers and other school staff and designing a plan of action. May supervise athletic events by attending events, monitoring student behavior, providing officials with necessary information. Attend Special Education staffing and IEP meetings, as needed. OTHER DUTIES Performs related work as required. KNOWLEDGES, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS Advanced oral and written communication, interpersonal, public relations, instruction, curriculum, facilitation, management, decision making, computer and organizational skills. Strong understanding of teaching and learning. Knowledge of school law, school finance/budgets, conflict management and behavior management. Ability to work with students and parents with various backgrounds and abilities. Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computer, computer software and basic office equipment. Operating knowledge of student information system required within 2 months after hire. English language skills required. Oral and written fluency in second language may be preferred or required based on building assignment. QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in education or education-related field; Colorado Initial or Professional School Principal License required; Classroom teaching and/or contractual administrative experience preferred (at the level of the posted position). ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS Reports to Principal, supervises school staff, and interacts with and focuses on students and customers. WORKING CONDITIONS The work is performed in a typical office environment located within a school setting. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The work is mostly sedentary with periods of light physical activity. Typical positions require workers to walk or stand for long periods; lift and carry up to 20 pounds; climb stairs, bend, reach, hold, grasp and turn objects; and use fingers to operate computer or typewriter keyboards. The work requires the ability to speak normally and to use normal or aided vision and hearing. Employees in this category will also receive the following for the 2025-2026 school year: Non-Recurring Pay: 7% of base salary in Non-Recurring Pay (distributed as 3.5% on November paycheck and 3.5% on May paycheck). Professional Development Fund (PDF): __EXEC Pro employees will be allocated $1,500 annually towards a Professional Development Fund (PDF) to be used for professional growth opportunities. Amount allocated will be prorated based upon date and length of hire. Staffing Stability Incentive (Mitchell High School Only): __EXEC Pro employees will receive the equivalent of one salary step divided over 12 pay periods (calculated as the difference between the placed step and the next step x number of hours per week x 4 weeks x 12 months). Pay for Performance (Mitchell High School): __EXEC Pros will receive a Pay for Performance Bonus that is paid out in the fall (utilizing criteria from the previous year). Base Salary Setting: Employment, assignment and salary placement, is in accordance with job description requirements. Salary Setting (New Hires): Newly-employed Executive Professionals will be placed on the twenty (20) step system. Each step represents two years of experience, based upon equivalent experience. Beginning in July 2025, The maximum number of years of experience granted is 14, which is equivalent to placement on step seven (7). Steps are determined by experience listed on the application and resume. Salary Setting (Rehires): Returning employees who have previously resigned or separated from the District will be rehired at the same step they were on at the time of resignation/separation plus any new experience gained in the same job, provided step increases were approved by the Board during the years in question. Employees with experience in the District who have left the District and then returned to the same position shall be hired at the same pay grade (refers to the __EXEC Pro placement on salary schedule by job title) and step at time of resignation. Additional relevant experience gained after resignation may be evaluated from the employee's application and updated resume.
