Armed Security Officer

POSITION SUMMARY: This armed position operates under the direct guidance of the site Manager at a prestigious location, executing a diverse range of security duties. In this role, you will monitor and report activities and incidents, ensuring the safety and security of client property, personnel, and visitors. As an armed officer, you are expected to respond to emergencies or unusual situations, employing the appropriate level of force as dictated by protocols and training. You will help maintain order and enforce site regulations while controlling access to the facility. Your responsibilities include monitoring entry points, preventing unauthorized access, and ensuring the premises' safety. This role may involve patrolling the site, checking for hazards, and securing evidence in the event of incidents. You will also prepare necessary reports and logs, sometimes under stressful conditions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The functions listed describe the general purpose of this role. Duties Include: Controlling access to the facility, ensuring unauthorized individuals cannot enter, while assisting legitimate visitors efficiently. Responding to emergencies following established protocols, maintaining proficiency in security equipment and weaponry. Creating an environment where clients and visitors feel valued and respected, enhancing the perception of the client and security department. Communicating openly and responsively with personnel and visitors, providing information as appropriate. Monitoring entries and exits, directing traffic and maintaining the flow of people and vehicles while preventing unauthorized access. Patrolling the site to identify unsafe conditions and security violations and conducting thorough inspections. Securing evidence in incidents to aid in investigations and providing direction during emergencies. Documenting incidents and preparing reports accurately and promptly. Reporting suspicious activities or incidents to appropriate authorities as necessary. Addressing various emergencies, including fires or medical incidents, according to site-specific procedures. Performing various other duties as required by the site. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Basic Qualifications: U.S. Citizenship Preferred Must be at least 21 years of age. Education | Experience: High School Diploma or G.E.D. required. At least two years of armed security or law enforcement experience, or two years of honorable service in the U.S. Armed Forces. Background Prerequisites: Must pass company standards for background checks, drug testing, and meet physical exams as needed. Competencies: Must hold relevant state and local licensing for armed security tasks. Must maintain certification in Basic Life Support CPR/AED and First Aid. Capable of learning security operations quickly. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients and staff. Able to follow instructions accurately. Demonstrates teamwork and maintains professionalism in challenging situations. Possesses strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Adept at providing excellent customer service and interacting positively with diverse groups. WORKING CONDITIONS: Requires physical and mental capacity to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation. The starting wage for this position is $17.75, increasing based on qualifications and site assignments. In California, the starting wage is $26.00. This role may also have Health and Welfare benefits and additional compensation for specialized security clearances.
