Become a Student Success Coach and Mentor! Join City Year as an AmeriCorps Member and play a crucial role in supporting students in their academic journey. Our teams work diligently to enhance educational outcomes, ensuring that every student receives the mentorship they need to thrive in school and their community. Your Role As a City Year AmeriCorps member, you will focus on coaching and mentoring students from elementary to high school. Your efforts will directly contribute to their academic success, attendance, and behavior development. You will have the opportunity to: Work directly with students in 1:1 and small group settings. Develop literacy and math skills through tailored learning activities. Create a positive behavior management system. Facilitate interpersonal skill development using effective learning strategies. Collaborate with educators to monitor and assess student progress. Contribute to a safe and engaging classroom environment. Community Engagement You will also be involved in initiatives that foster family and community involvement, such as: Assisting with extended day and virtual programming, including academic support and leadership development.
