Fleet Maintenance Specialist The Fleet Maintenance Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the engineering and technical operations of US-Flag cruise ships. You will be an essential part of the Engineering department, ensuring the maintenance, repair, and regulatory compliance of all American Cruise Lines' (ACL) certificated vessels. Join a dedicated team of regional Port and Fleet engineers responsible for maintaining a division of vessels. Your ability to respond quickly to repair needs is crucial for keeping our vessels on schedule. Familiarity with vessel machinery, equipment, and systems is essential to your role, and you may be the primary technician on scene to troubleshoot and resolve issues. You will report directly to the Port Engineer, Assistant Port Engineer, or Fleet Engineer as assigned. Together, we are dedicated to Sharing America's Story on the Finest American Ships. Key Responsibilities: Support the Fleet Engineer and Assistant Port Engineer in their duties. Identify and troubleshoot technical issues on vessels to provide rapid solutions and minimize downtime. Repair equipment and assist in addressing maintenance requests. Be on-call for repairs, responding promptly to urgent needs. Coordinate and ensure timely completion of projects and repairs. Frequent visits to ships are required. Provide technical guidance and information to shipboard engineers as directed. Stay informed about USCG, USPH, FDA, EPA, and other federal regulations. Assist with Water Management Plan and monitor water quality. Perform additional duties as assigned. Attributes for Success: Strong problem identification and management skills. Ability to act with urgency to complete time-sensitive tasks. Proficiency in using computer programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Skilled with hand and power tools. Knowledgeable about diesel and gas engines. Eagerness to learn and take direction from the Port Engineer. Licenses and Registrations: A valid driver's license is required. Must possess a valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card). Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent or relevant experience preferred. This position involves continuous travel among different ships within the fleet. Additional Requirements: Background check and pre-employment physical are necessary. Must be able to frequently navigate stairs, fixed ladders, and ladder-wells on ships. Capable of sitting for long periods, as well as standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling as needed. Ability to reach, handle equipment, and use keyboards and mobile devices. Must be located in the Pacific Northwest region. Lifting of boxes (files and supplies) up to 20 lbs may be required.
