The Advanced Computing, Mathematics, and Data Division (ACMDD) is looking for a motivated PhD intern eager to delve into foundational graph models, graph representation learning, and their applications in electronic design automation and cybersecurity. This role provides a thrilling chance to engage in innovative projects that bridge theoretical insights with real-world applications. Responsibilities As a PhD intern, you will have the opportunity to: Develop and implement graph neural networks and large language models. Contribute to significant scientific machine learning initiatives. Manage scientific data while adhering to FAIR principles. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and share your findings through peer-reviewed publications. Utilize your strong communication skills to effectively present complex concepts. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Currently pursuing a PhD at an accredited institution. A minimum GPA of 3.0. Preferred Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field. Experience in energy sciences, such as computational physics or chemistry. Strong foundational knowledge in applied mathematics, especially in machine learning and graph theory. Proficiency in Python and data science libraries (Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, Matplotlib). Familiar with version control systems like Git. Experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow. Knowledge of graph databases like Neo4j and contemporary deep learning techniques. A publication record in respected conferences like NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, or AAAI.
