Location: UCHealth UCHlth Anschutz Inpt Pavilion, US:CO: Aurora Department: UCHA SANE FTE: PRN, 0.0, 0.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks) Shift: Combination of shifts Pay: $37.06 - $57.44 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience. This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option. Summary: As a Forensic Nurse Examiner, you will take medical histories, assess patients' psychological conditions, and conduct physical examinations. Your role will include the collection and preservation of evidence, provision of direct nursing care, and documentation of findings. You will support victims and their families through the processes of evidence collection and treatment while ensuring they understand their options. Key Responsibilities: Conduct thorough medical assessments and document patients' accounts. Collect and preserve evidence, relevant specimens, and document all findings accurately. Provide direct nursing care for injuries and administer prophylactic medications as needed. Guide victims and families through evidence collection, treatment recommendations, and interaction with law enforcement. Serve as a victim advocate and provide expert testimony in court as required. This position demands critical thinking, sound judgement, and the ability to perform autonomously in a fast-paced environment. Requirements: Registered Nurse with a degree from an accredited nursing program. Completion of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner training within 3 months of hire. State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). 1 year of RN experience or 6 months as an Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner or Certified Nurse Midwife). Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, valid for sixty days post-hire.
