Job Description: Position Details: $320 per day during training (5 weeks), increasing to a minimum of $400 per day. Monday through Friday, dispatch at 2 AM, average 10-hour shifts - NO WEEKENDS. Involves touch freight, managing mixed pallets, and performing ramp and hand truck work. Prior experience in food service or beverage delivery is highly desirable. Position Purpose: Your role as a food service delivery driver is essential for maintaining our nation's food supply chain. You will ensure timely and safe delivery of products while fostering positive relationships with our customers. As a driver, you will operate a tractor-trailer or straight truck for various routes, including local, interstate, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight deliveries, all in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Primary Responsibilities: Maintain professional communication with customers, vendors, and colleagues, ensuring prompt and accurate responses to inquiries. Collaborate effectively as a team member, fulfilling assigned duties to meet the company's needs. Conduct safety checks (pre/post-trip) per DOT regulations; inspect tractor/truck and trailer for compliance with safety standards. Report any safety issues or required repairs immediately. Adhere strictly to all DOT regulations and company driving policies. Inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight while ensuring all deliveries align with scheduled routes. Conduct count checks of items, verifying product invoices and necessary paperwork. Move tractors to loading docks and attach preloaded trailers as required. Deliver customer orders according to the predetermined route schedule efficiently. Unload products from the trailer, transporting them to designated storage areas at customer sites. Perform damage checks on items and communicate order issues to supervisors. Verify delivery with customers and obtain necessary signatures. Collect payments (cash or checks) when needed and secure trailers accordingly. Unload any damaged goods or customer returns, completing relevant paperwork as necessary. Maintain accurate daily records of service hours in compliance with Federal DOT and company policies. Keep the tractor, loading dock areas, and trailers clean and orderly as required. Secure all company equipment and finalize necessary paperwork at the end of each shift. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: A minimum of 12 months of commercial driving experience. High school diploma/GED or equivalent. Valid CDL A license. Comply with all state licensing requirements. Must be at least 21 years old. Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years. Successful completion of post-offer drug test and criminal background check. Pass a road test. Valid current DOT Health Card or the ability to obtain one. Able to hand-lift and use moving equipment for product handling; weights typically range from 10-35 pounds, up to 60-90 pounds.
