Metal Grinder and Chipper Operator

Description: Position: Grinder and Chipper Operator Schedule: 1st Shift | 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM Days: Monday - Thursday Overtime: Fridays & Saturdays as needed Experience Required Minimum of 1 year of grinding experience in manufacturing or foundry Role Overview As a Grinder and Chipper Operator, you will play a crucial role in refining metal castings by removing excess material and defects while adhering to strict quality and safety standards within a manufacturing or foundry environment. Key Responsibilities Utilize pneumatic and pedestal grinders to grind and chip castings. Eliminate burrs, sharp edges, cracks, and excess metal from parts. Inspect castings for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards. Safely operate cranes, hoists, and forklifts. Manually position and move parts or assist with cranes as necessary. Conduct daily safety inspections and equipment checks. Collaborate effectively with the production and material handling teams. Physically lift and move parts weighing up to 100 lbs (team lift when required). Physical Requirements Stand and use hands continuously throughout the shift. Frequent reaching, walking, and lifting of up to 50 lbs. Work in a manufacturing or foundry setting with exposure to noise and heavy machinery.
