A critical role is available for a Registered Respiratory Therapist at a specialized Critical Illness and Rehab facility located in Hilliard, OH. This contract position offers an opportunity to deliver high-quality, intensive respiratory care to patients with critical needs, playing a vital role in patient recovery and well-being. Responsibilities include evaluating patients and developing treatment plans, performing physician-prescribed respiratory therapies, and operating advanced ventilatory equipment. The therapist will conduct patient education related to treatments, manage patient transport, and provide extensive respiratory support including suctioning, chest physiotherapy, and tracheostomy care. Additional duties involve performing diagnostic tests such as 12-lead EKGs, pulmonary function studies, arterial punctures, and monitoring using capnography and oximetry. The role also requires participation in cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to BLS and ACLS guidelines, maintaining respiratory equipment, and documenting comprehensive patient records ensuring continuity and quality of care. Desired Experience and Qualifications: Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) licensure. Proficiency in operating invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment. Knowledge of respiratory therapies, airway management, and pulmonary diagnostic testing. Ability to perform advanced procedures including tracheostomy care and endotracheal intubation. Familiarity with laboratory testing protocols relevant to respiratory care. Strong communication skills for collaboration with physicians and healthcare team members. Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of patient care.
