Job Title: Medical Technologist (ASCP) Location: Overland Park / Leawood, Kansas Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent Available Shifts Evening Shift - 40 hours/week Night Shift - Thursday to Sunday (32 hours/week) Weekends Only Compensation & Benefits Hourly Rate: $29.00 - $41.00 per hour (Based on Experience) Sign-On Bonus: $20,000 Relocation Assistance: $5,000 Shift Differentials: $2/hr - Evenings $3/hr - Nights $3/hr - Weekends Position Summary A leading acute care hospital in the Kansas City metro area is seeking a qualified Medical Technologist (ASCP) to join its clinical laboratory team. This role is responsible for performing a full range of laboratory testing procedures while ensuring accuracy, quality control, and compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have recent Blood Bank experience and a strong understanding of clinical laboratory operations within an acute care hospital setting. Responsibilities Perform pre-analytic duties including specimen collection, processing, data entry, and related clerical tasks Conduct waived, moderate, and high-complexity testing on blood and body fluids according to established laboratory standards Complete post-analytic responsibilities including result reporting, verification, and investigation of abnormal findings Maintain quality control procedures and ensure compliance with laboratory regulations Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment (refrigerators, centrifuges, freezers, analyzers) Manage laboratory inventory including reagents and supplies Assist with staff training and student orientation Participate in performance improvement initiatives and evaluation of new laboratory technologies Correlate abnormal laboratory results with clinical conditions to ensure validity and appropriate follow-up Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related scientific field Certification through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) required (MT/MLS or specialty certifications such as BB, C, H, I, or M ASCP) Minimum 1+ year of recent Blood Bank experience in an acute care hospital laboratory Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, quality control, and clinical testing standards For more details reach at or Call / Text at 518-862-1204.
