DescriptionTransportation Manager ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT • Responsible for the scheduling of trucks, fleet maintenance, and overseeing donation stations. • Collaborate with the warehouse manager, store managers, logistics director, and other personnel to ensure timely loading and unloading and forecast sourcing needs. • Manage shipment tracking and documentation, ensuring all scheduled stops are adhered to. • Coordinate the movement of retail equipment to have an adequate supply in support of the total operation. • Direct involvement in handling logistics of trash removal/consolidation and recycling. • Develop and implement regular fleet maintenance schedules. Oversee vehicle maintenance and repairs. Confer with management to resolve maintenance problems and ensure assets are maintained in good working conditions. • Promptly resolve any issues or delays in transportation services. PERSONNEL FOCUS • Provide supervision and leadership for transportation operations. • Schedule driver and donation station attendant shifts and ensure proper coverage. Assign tasks and ensure efficient productivity while fostering a positive work environment. • Train, supervise, and evaluate drivers and donation station attendants to ensure high performance and adherence to safety standards. Monitor driver qualifications. ADMINISTRATIVE • Collect, analyze, and report data for on-time performance, ridership, schedule and routing, safety and loss, and budget information • Adhere to and enforce safety and loss prevention procedures to prevent injury to personnel and damage to property, equipment, and inventory. Ensure all operations are performed according to agency policies and procedures • Embrace the core values of the agency in the spirit in which the agency operates at work and in the community. Contribute to the fulfillment of department and agency objectives and goals. • Comply with all department and agency policies, procedures, and regulations. • Perform other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES • High School Diploma or equivalent, and five (5) years related work experience, including driving a box truck or obtaining a CDL. Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations. • Possess a valid Driver's License, a clean driving record, and carry the minimum liability coverage as required by the State of Texas. Able to pass a pre-employment background check and Drug/Alcohol test. Reliable transportation with the ability to travel within the region • Demonstrates sensitivity and the ability to communicate with a diverse population. • Knowledge of safety and quality standards. • General understanding of facility maintenance • Strong leadership and communication skills • Basic computer skills PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS • Ability to work in hot/cold, humid and/or dusty environments • Ability to bend, push, pull, and stand for long periods of time • Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs with assistance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bilingual in Spanish and English Supervisory experience CDL
