Job DescriptionTITLE: Controls Technician/Engineer Comp: $80,000-$100,000 Location: Shelbyville, Indiana Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for a Controls Technician/Engineer direct hire position in Shelbyville, Indiana. Responsibilities: Support and maintain manufacturing equipment utilizing the Mitsubishi controls platform to ensure optimal uptime and performance. Work with automated welding cells, presses, fixtures, heat treating equipment, and other automated manufacturing systems. Assist with PLC/HMI programming, troubleshooting, and system optimization. Spend approximately 80% of time on the production floor working directly with equipment, connecting via laptop to review, adjust, and improve control code; 20% dedicated to documentation, continuous improvement, and project-related tasks. Collaborate with Maintenance to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software-related equipment issues. Support programming updates, inventory coordination, project management activities, quality initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts. Contribute to value-added and value engineering (VA/VE) initiatives, including design modifications and process improvements to reduce costs. Utilize CAD software for layout development, tooling design, and fixture design as needed. Required Skills & Qualifications: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), Computer Science, or a related field (required). Open to entry-level candidates with relevant internships; 1-5 years of experience in a Controls Engineer or Controls Technician role preferred. Experience working with PLC systems; Mitsubishi experience preferred, with Allen-Bradley experience considered transferable. Ability to log into existing PLC programs, troubleshoot issues, and modify or edit ladder logic and HMI code (full programming from scratch not required). Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve controls-related issues in a manufacturing environment TERMS: This is a direct hire position that pays from $80,000 - $100,000/yr. #ENG123
