Job Description

The controller will be responsible for oversight of all finance, accounting and reporting activities. In addition to the day-to-day accounting functions, the Controller is responsible for managing month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting. This position reports directly to the executive director and manages one to two staff members in accounting. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Executive Director. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for developing annual budget with Executive Director as well as other Directors across the organization. The controller will work with our external accounting firms to prepare documentation and assist in creating and managing our annual audits. Oversee general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, and cash application. Approve credit holds and set credit limits for new accounts Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes. Maintain fixed asset schedules, depreciation, and related reporting. Oversee inventory accounting, including reconciliations between physical and system counts. Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls. Supervise, mentor, and support the accounting staff. Required to have active involvement in all accounting functions, i.e. "hands-on" approach Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA required. Intermediate to advanced level working knowledge of QuickBooks Online. 5-7+ years of senior-level accounting experience, preferably in the non-profit sector Solid knowledge of GAAP and internal controls. Hands-on experience with general ledger, AR, and inventory accounting. Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and vlookups. Proficiency with association management software such as Member Central is highly desired. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, small-company environment. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Salary Description $105,000-$115k / Annually
