Position Overview A leading company in the commercial construction industry is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to oversee financial operations and strengthen collaboration between field teams and the office. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary liaison between field teams and the accounting department, ensuring efficient communication and resource allocation. Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and deliver actionable insights to stakeholders. Oversee key accounting functions, including general ledger management, financial reporting, and budgeting. Prepare and present financial data at monthly division reviews. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures in collaboration with leadership. Lead and manage the job costing team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment. Streamline processes and support multi-entity operations, including startups and acquisitions. Skills & Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 3 years in finance/accounting, with a focus on the commercial construction sector. Technical Skills: Proficiency in job costing, general ledger management, budgeting, and financial reporting. Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., ECMs by Computer Guidance Corp). Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. Additional Skills: Strong communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights. Experience with multi-company structures, including startups and acquisitions. High emotional intelligence and the ability to handle confidential information. Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred). Management Scope Supervise a team of two staff members: a job cost accountant and a cost account coordinator.
