Snapshot / Role Overview We're seeking an Electrical Engineer PE in Orlando, FL to design power distribution and lighting systems for commercial and institutional construction projects. Impact • Deliver electrical designs that ensure safe, reliable power for mission-critical facilities • Support energy efficiency goals through innovative lighting and power system design • Provide technical leadership that guides project teams through complex electrical challenges • Ensure code compliance and quality standards on high-profile construction projects Responsibilities • Design electrical power distribution systems for commercial buildings • Perform load calculations, panel schedules, and short circuit analysis • Develop lighting designs that meet energy codes and photometric requirements • Prepare construction documents including one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and details • Review submittals for switchgear, transformers, generators, and lighting fixtures • Coordinate with mechanical engineers, architects, and electrical contractors • Conduct site visits to verify installation and resolve construction issues • Ensure designs comply with NEC, NFPA, and local electrical codes Requirements Must-Haves • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering • Professional Engineer (PE) license required • 3-7 years of electrical design experience in commercial construction • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and electrical calculation software • Strong knowledge of NEC and electrical codes • Excellent communication and project coordination skills Nice-to-Haves • LEED AP or LC (Lighting Certified) credentials • Experience with emergency power systems and life safety design • Knowledge of lighting controls and energy management systems • Familiarity with healthcare or data center electrical design Compensation & Logistics Competitive salary depending on experience; benefits include health insurance, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) with company match, PTO, paid holidays, continuing education reimbursement, and PE license renewal support.
